After enjoying a number of different pies during our many travels abroad, we decided that a California version of the traditional “pot pie” could be a good idea here in the States – but this idea needed testing out. We started making our pie fill and pastry at a friend’s restaurant and assembled the pies by hand in our Placerville storefront. However, we knew that we could not keep this method up for very long, as we were compelled to close the restaurant on Tuesday and Wednesday in order to make enough pies for sale during the rest of the week. As our sales grew we had to outsource the production. Now after 8 years in business, with about half a million pies produced, we have decided to follow our customers’ requests and our own dreams - to franchise our Z Pie fast-casual restaurant concept. What started as three flavors and two different salads has evolved into a unique fast-casual concept offering more then 15 flavors of USDA certified pies, 8 different salads, soups and desserts along with beer and wine. Our casual restaurant setting, knowledgeable servers and excellent service has attracted a diverse customer base and loyal followers who have helped prove to us over the years that our products are appreciated and enjoyed by everyone.  Offering the entire menu for dine-in or take-out, as well as quantity discounts for frozen take-and-bake pies helps to contribute to sales throughout the day.

Who:
Z Franchise Group is looking for motivated, passionate, fun, hard working people to help us expand our concept. Initially, we are looking for owner operators that will be involved in the day to day operations. Interested applicants should have some restaurant or management experience with strong communication and organizational skills, along with $60,000 dollars in liquid capital with a net worth of $300,000.

Where:
We are looking for unique locations in California, Oregon and Nevada that will showcase our concept, pies and product mix.

What:
Along with our commitment to support you throughout the operation of your store, we will also provide you with the following:

• use of our logo, icons and processes.
• classroom, in-store and on-site training in all facets of Z pie operations.
• a protected franchise area
• operations manual
• our proprietary gourmet Z pies and other specialty items.
• restaurant layout, equipment list, inventory needs, approved suppliers and recipes.
• ongoing marketing and advertising

How much:
The initial franchise fee is: $27,500 (to be deferred until opening.)

Estimated initial investment, including the franchise fee, ranges from $159,575 - $251,500

Royalties are: 4% of gross sales
